Think Winter Wedding and then add Lord of the Rings meets Game of Thrones and that was the inspiration for this shoot.
I loved getting creative with the hairstyle for this shoot! It's not something I've done before which made it even more fun. Here's some of the professional photos (by Tom Clark) as well as a couple of behind the scenes videos that I took on the day.
The Venue
The shoot took place at Highley Manor, a scenic country manor house wedding venue located in Balcombe, West Sussex. Most of the shots were taken in the ceremony room, a beautiful rustic room with a high ceiling, wooden beams and an open fireplace. However the focal point has got to be the bay window at the end of the aisle that looks out onto the grounds, not forgetting the grand staircase with stain glass windows which we had to get a couple of shots of too!
The Hair
Loose waves and plaits were a must for this shoot so I decided to do two plaits on each side and kept them tight to the head. Then I created a loose wave that flow down Bex's back to compliment the 'Lord of the Rings' theme.
The Makeup
Vicky at VB.Artistry created a frosty makeup look with loads of highlight and cool tones which tied in perfectly with the theme. The addition of these Elf ears really took it to the next level!
The Dress
Hannah, owner of Brides By Aster, provided this amazing Evelyn Bridal dress. It has lace, beading and back detail as well as layers and layers of light material to create the flowing train. It tied the whole look together and gave a whimsical feel that completed the look.
Here's a behind the scenes video I took of the dress. It was a breezy day (Not ideal for the hair!) perfect to show off the dress though!
The Decor
Mulberry Events have a blossom tree set up on each side of the end of the aisle, framing the bay window. Each tree has plenty of strings of crystal beads which successfully catch the light in the photos. (Even better, they were all handmade by the Mulberry Team!)
I had so much fun on this shoot with the amazing suppliers. I always love doing something a bit different and challenging myself with a hairstyle I've never tried before.
